Our handrails meet ASTM-D635 classification HB and IRAM 11910-3 classification RE2 [ very low flame-spread material ].
Other formulations can also be used, such as halogenated resins, which meet ASTM D-635 classification 0-25 and ASTM E-84 classification 0-25 for self-extinguishing behaviour [ the rating required by the US fire service ].
It is important to note that the composite does not melt, soften or bend, because it is not a thermoplastic: it is a thermoset.
