At Argentina’s National Institute of Industrial Technology the following tests were carried out:
- Fire behaviour to ASTM D635
- Dielectric strength
- Tensile tests on simple specimens and bolted joints
- Lattice beams
- Cable trays and gratings
- Accelerated UV ageing
Universities
With the National Technological University (UTN) we ran tensile tests on pultruded profile specimens.
At the National University of Rosario, lattice beams and GFRP construction bars were tested. That rebar line is discontinued, even though demand for the product is rising again.
Supplier laboratories
On supplier Instron machines we measure tension and bending of profiles and sheets. They complement institute and university tests with batch and standard-product data.
Revalidation underway
We are revalidating the full set of tests and adding cable-tray tests adapted to the international NEMA FG1 standard. The aim is to refresh the laboratory record and cover the Escaglass® system to the same criterion the electrical market requires.
