In concentrators, leaching circuits and stockyards, steel is eaten away: acids, salts, pressure washing and abrasive dust. CME manufactures GFRP structures, walkways, gratings and stairs so people can operate without painting or replacing for corrosion.
The composite does not rust and weighs a fraction of steel: it goes into tight sites, is assembled with less equipment and takes the aggressive mine environment.
Where GFRP belongs
Platforms and walkways over wet circuits, ponds and process lines.
Gratings and handrails in wash-down, acid and dust zones that strip steel coatings.
Access, stairs and covers where a large crane cannot enter or assembly has to be fast between shutdowns.
Why not coated steel
The coating cracks with abrasion and the metal is left exposed. GFRP is the material: it does not depend on a paint film.
Light versus stainless: less lifting, less assembly time, less interference with the plant.
Dielectric and low-maintenance. CME sizes, manufactures and supervises assembly for each circuit.
Corrosion
Acids, salts, leaching and wash-down. No yearly painting.
Abrasion
Dust and operating traffic without losing section like a coating.
Weight
Light spans for tight sites and short shutdowns.
